Preview: Outbreak Festival

Jake Longhurst offers a diverse and more affordable alternative to Glastonbury festival, namely Outbreak. Have a read of their thoughts ahead of the up-and-coming fest.

If you, like me, would love to go to a festival on the weekend of Glastonbury but don’t have ridiculous amounts of money and would like a much more enjoyable weekend, then look no further than Outbreak Festival. With roots in alternative hip-hop and hardcore, it has a very wide fan base and a massive range of genres represented each year, this year more so than ever! As one of the only festivals going that actively allows for stage-diving (provided you sign a waiver of course), you can experience live music differently from how you’ve ever experienced it before, as well as being on stage with your favourite artist for a few brief seconds before diving straight back into the crowd. The artists confirmed so far are a massive range of sounds, from one of the most impressive free-flow rappers in the world, Denzel Curry, to hardcore heroes Code Orange, going via the experimental hip-hop group Death Grips, and Liverpool’s own beautifully heavy Loathe. The line-up is as brilliant as it is varied, and this is one of the best things about the festival - you’ll experience a massive amount of music no matter what! Couple that with the festival's genuine care for the attendees, the exclusively vegan (and delicious) food stalls, and some amazing merch, and you’ve got a recipe for one of the most enjoyable festival experiences you can possibly find.
