Charm of Achilles: Debut EP release

Charm of Achilles is a band that has been growing in reputation and musical individuality in Nottingham since bassist Luke enrolled at UoN last September. Their live presence in the city has become infamous thanks to the distinct vocals of Alex and the Duo’s powerful song writing style. We’ve even had them play at the two Mic gigs we love them so much. How’s that for endorsement?

Starting out at acoustic open mics, the pair performed covers of ‘Feeling Good’ and ‘Pumped up Kicks’  injecting their unique arrangement of a lead bass accompanied by gritty, soulful vocals to create a sound that was instantly and infectiously individual.

Now accompanied by Andrew, a seasoned Nottingham drummer, Charm of Achilles have recorded their debut EP at Nottingham’s DIY venue, studio and record shop JT Soar with Phil Booth which is released tomorrow.

If you want a sneaky listen to the EP before its release, here’s a clip from their Soundcloud from a radio play on Essex’s Phoenix FM.

‘The Show EP’ is available for download and as a limited edition signed CD on 1/4/13 from their bandcamp site. Click the artwork below to mosey on over.
