Preview: Foolhardy Folk Festival

Megan-Rose Greener gives the run-down on an exciting folk festival coming to Nottingham soon.

Weather-wise, we’ve had a total English washout this summer. Most of our plans have been rained out, and our bank holidays have been far from fun in the sun. However, there’s a small glimmer of hope for our final bank holiday (August 26th -28th) to be the redeeming one.

Whether or not that’s the case, events at the Arboretum are making strides to end summer on the highest of notes.

On Sunday 27th , folk-legend Beans on Toast returns to Nottingham with his much anticipated ‘Foolhardy Folk Festival’ for the third year running. In my humble opinion, this year is set to be the best one yet. The line-up is incredible for such a small venue, with legend Jeffrey

Lewis swinging by from the US, Beans on Toast himself performing and a stunning surprise guest act with Frank Turner. It is set to be a life-affirming day full of wonderful music and, we hope, some sunshine!

The event has sold out now, so if you have a ticket, see you in the heart of the city! Otherwise, this beautiful location is hosting the Arboretum Beer Festival on Saturday 26th . It’ll have beer, live music and street food so you can still get your summer Arboretum fix

before it's too late. Whichever way you go, the Arboretum is definitely the place to be this bank holiday.
