Houghton Festival is nestled deep in the idyllic Norfolk countryside, and champions electronic music; including drum and bass more recently; but predominantly techno. Jodie Averis shares her thoughts.
As a frequenter of electronic music festival giant Creamfields, it will certainly be a more intimate and unique experience of dance music, and I believe this to be accredited to not only the stunning variety of stage designs (stages deep within the forest and large huts that include immersive lights and interesting decor and design), but also Houghton's 24-hour music license, of which I believe that Houghton is the only festival to boast. Meaning, that the dance truly doesn't stop, and ravers can experience some of the most exciting electronic music as the sun rises.
The line-up boasts a wide variety of electronic artists and talents, most of which I have never heard of. Houghton gives a stage to more niche and underground artists, allowing the possibility of discovering a brand-new favourite. I'm more than excited for the dance-induced backache that Houghton will inevitably give me. I cannot wait.
