Preview: Jorja Smith at Rock City

Abby Clarke

Jorja Smith, the twenty-one-year-old R&B singer from Walsall, will be performing to a sold-out Rock City on Sunday 14th October.

Having recently released her debut album “Lost and Found”, Jorja Smith is taking the album on tour around the UK, Europe and North America. With influences from the likes of Amy Winehouse and The Streets, her sound brings a unique and refreshingly different vibe to the Nottingham music scene which is mostly dominated by indie/alternative artists.

Jorja Smith has worked with big names such as Drake and Stormzy and recently performed at the 2018 BRIT awards with Rag’n’Bone Man. Already getting the support from this type of artist proves that Jorja is somebody to watch out for.

Unfortunately, the Rock City show is already sold out and after the success of her debut album it won’t be a surprise if she decides to play even bigger venues the next time she goes on tour. Make sure you check out our review of the Rock City show here at The Mic Magazine.
