Riley Halls Backler gives their thoughts on Reading Festival's huge lineup for the end of August.
Reading Festival 2023 is set to be another huge event for any young music lovers this year, with a wide array of genres to enjoy over that iconic August Bank Holiday weekend. From the headliners alone we have stadium rock legends The Killers and Imagine Dragons, alt pop powerhouse Billie Eilish, and Foals, who have cemented their place in the R&L royalty having first headlined in 2016. Sam Fender continues to cement himself as a front runner for modern British rock, as Friday will mark his debut as a main stage headliner. And of course, returning on Saturday night are The 1975, who, for the second year in a row, have acted as a last minute replacement headliner, performing their entire debut album in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

But it’s not just the headliners that are exciting: there is such a huge mixture of artists this year that anyone can have fun discovering new music this August. A fan of rock? Look out for bands like Yard Act, Inhaler, Don Broco, Vistas and of course, Brit-winners Wet Leg. More into rap and hip hop? We have Loyle Carner, Tion Wayne, Central Cee, even Shy FX. Let’s not forget the pop artists this year! Rina Sawayama, Holly Humberstone, Baby Queen and Steve Lacey who are set to all give amazing performances this year. Reading Festival is once again providing a wonderful lineup for young music lovers everywhere, who will surely love the varied line up and superstar headline acts. It’s set to be a Bank Holiday weekend to remember, so we’ll see you on the barrier!
