Ahead of his show at the famous Rock City, Nieve gives a run down of the rise and rise of electronic music heavyweight Sigala.
Producer and DJ Bruce Fielder – also known as Sigala – is heading to Nottingham’s Rock City on the 22nd February as the first part of his eagerly anticipated 2020 World Tour. 2019 was an extremely successful year for the Norwich-born DJ and producer, and 2020 will undeniably follow the same pattern of big collaborations and dazzling shows. Hence, this is certainly not one to be missed.
The venue of Rock City is undoubtedly intimate, considering it wouldn’t be a stab in the dark to say that Sigala will be taking to arenas this time next year. Having placed a feature on his website where fans can pin where they want him to perform next, Sigala clearly wants to put on a stunning show for those in attendance. When he performed at Capital’s Summertime Ball, Sigala ‘had 80,000 people feeling like they were in Ibiza’.
On the back of his 2018 album Brighter Days, which included collaborations with Flo Rida, Sean Paul, The Vamps, Nina Nesbitt, Craig David and Kodaline among others, 2019 saw Sigala’s tracks achieve major climbs in the UK and International charts. Finding themselves as the biggest of the summer soundtrack of 2019, his hits have included collaborations from Becky Hill, Ella Eyre and Paloma Faith, allowing him to give his tracks a distinguishable and immediately recognisable vocal.
Performances at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, SW4 Festival and Sziget were notable highlights for the BRIT-nominated artist, who already has accumulated seven UK Top 10 singles, six million UK sales and two billion audio streams, alongside a plethora of other achievements which have made the DJ one of the most in-demand electronic producers.

Bruce Fielder has risen from a bedroom producer in rural Norfolk to dominating the UK music scene with his trademark blend of house-inspired dance-pop as Sigala in a matter of years. Fielder isn’t shy in collaborating with a diverse range of established and emerging talent to create worldwide, dance-floor smashes, making each track and every collaboration a possible hit and its vocalist a potential star of the future.
Sigala’s arena-worthy records will see him take up bigger spots in future years, therefore his performance at Rock City is certainly not one to be missed.
