Preview: UMS Charity Livestream

Nottingham’s own Underground Music Society, one of the UK’s biggest student hubs for all things Dance music, are hosting a 24-hour livestream this weekend, in support of Emmanuel House Support Centre. UMS’ Marketing officer and our Releases editor Ewan Samms provides an exclusive preview.

Saturday is going to be a huge day for music in Nottingham. With the state of the UK in 2022 and the challenging Winter approaching, the great work of Emmanuel House Support Centre is more important than ever. EH support the most vulnerable citizens in Nottingham without prejudice or judgement in order to tackle isolation, vulnerability and homelessness. With no statutory funding for their core services, they rely on donations from individuals, schools, fundraising and businesses to continue providing much needed support and services to the homeless and vulnerably housed in Nottingham. Find out more on their website, https://www.emmanuelhouse.org.uk.

UMS, in collaboration with Swingdash Studios and a host of other local brands and DJs, will be livestreaming non-stop music for 24 hours, from 12pm-12pm, on Saturday 26 November. Swingdash is a newfound staple of the Nottingham music scene, fully decked out with club level equipment and a killer soundsystem. It's really exciting to have the event take place in a space we value so much and a studio that has the interests of Notts at it's heart. Learn more about Swingdash Studios on their instagram, @swingdash.

We're so grateful to present the lineup of local DJs and brands that are getting involved with the stream. Nottingham heavyweights, staples and newcomers alike are helping to support Emmanuel House this weekend, featuring Certi Records, 2Step Notts, Jangala, Trent Bass, Weighteh and more. See the graphic below or check out the UMS instagram (@UONUMS) for the full lineup and timings. Expect a mix of Garage, Breaks, House and Tech, Electro, Hip Hop and more.

The UMS charity livestream, in support of Emmanuel House Support Centre, looks to be a huge collective effort from the Nottingham Underground Music Scene. We're really excited to hear some killer mixes from our community and raise money for Emmanuel House. Donate now at https://www.justgiving.com/page/underground-music-1667673649819 and make sure to follow @UONUMS on instagram to keep up with the event. With underground love.
