Preview: Y NOT? Festival

Updated: Aug 4

'Is it really that time again?' I hear you ask. Sure is! And I can't believe it, either! As August approaches, so does a weekend in the heart of the Peak District with music galore! Y NOT? Festival is back once again, from 31st July - 3rd August, with something for each and every one of you!

Y NOT? has always struck a sweet balance of indie icons, rock legends and emerging talent and 2025 is no different, boasting a legendary line up of huge artists, with the likes of The Prodigy, Courteeners and Madness headlining over the weekend. And it’s not just about the heavyweights- we graciously welcome back some names that I haven't seen on festival line up-s for too long! This year, we’re seeing the long-overdue return of some fan favourites. Hard Life (formerly Easy Life) make their triumphant return to the festival circuit, and if their recent sets are anything to go by, they’re back with a bang and a whole lot to say. The Hunna, Red Rum Club and The Pigeon Detectives are some personal favourites that I will be sure to check out over the weekend- and you should too! The Academic, Circa Waves and Vistas will all be making an appearance for your feel-good indie summer. But, whether your niche is disco funk, or you're a lover of mosh pits to heavy tunes, you can find your place in the arena this weekend.

Featuring an extensive number of stages this year, from the Big Gin main stage to the Club Malibu dance stage for all day party vibes, there is truly something for everybody this weekend. And, it's not just the music! From cinema screenings to silent discos, quirky food vendors, bars, late-night DJs and comedy sets, this year is not one to miss. Including the Strawberry Fields for little ones, Y NOT offers an inclusive and welcoming space for the whole family.

Pledging for this year to be the 'greenest ever', Y NOT hopes to make the smallest impact on our beautiful peak district throughout the weekend, promoting recycling, reducing waste and introducing reusable cups for a more sustainable experience! So, remember to leave no trace when you're heading home!
