Preview: Sundara Karma @ Rock City

The rise of Sundara Karma has accelerated in the last year beyond anything even the band could have predicted. Having amassed a following through various shows in bands such as The Wombats, Two Door Cinema Club and Bastille, with their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Love Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect’ reaching Number 24 in the Official UK Charts and on the back of a hugely successful festival season, they return to Nottingham for their first headline gig at Rock City, which promises to be one to remember for those in attendance.

Anyone attending the gig can expect the usual brand of indie-rock that Sundara Karma appear to have made their own; from the frenetic ‘A Young Understanding’ to the lyrically impressive ‘Olympia’, from the party favourite ‘She Said’ to newest release ‘Lahkey’, the band do not disappoint. They were absolutely one of the highlights of the festival when The Mic went to Bilbao (in case you missed it, they get a mention here http://themicmagazine.co.uk/2017/07/13/thursday-bbk-live-2017/), and should not be missed in Nottingham this time round. A Saturday night at Rock City, at the end of Freshers’ week for students no less, what’s not to like?! If you’ve never heard of the band, or never seen them, do not let that put you off. They never fail to put on a show!

Catch Sundara Karma at Rock City on Saturday 30th September. Keep an eye out here at The Mic for a review of the gig!
