On Thursday both the Bodega and Rough Trade are welcoming Bombay Bicycle Club’s bassist Ed Nash’s solo project Toothless.
Following on from the Bombay Bicycle Club”s announced hiatus, Nash is striking it out on his own. Despite being known and often labelled as ‘the bassist from Bombay Bicycle Club’ Nash’s sound varies from the Bombay sound, providing a mixture of acoustic melodies, heady vocals and a throbbing bassline.
His debut album ‘The Pace of the Passing’ was released in late January and features honeyed harmonies from ‘The Staves’, ‘Marika Hackman’ and ‘Liz Lawrence’ who is the main support for Nash’s current tour along with Magiqu.
His sound captivates the listener with its staggered minor notes, phased drums, finger-picked guitars and evasive vocals. The gig is certainly not to be missed by either Bombay fans or indie lovers.
Rough Trade will be hosting an in-store session and signing at 6pm followed by a full set at the Bodega later that night.
The Pace of The Passing is available to buy, download and stream now.
