Ross Williams previews one of Nottingham's favourite live music events, the intercity spectacle that is Dot To Dot!
Dot To Dot Festival will return to the streets of Nottingham for bank holiday revelry on Sunday the 28th of May. A number of familiar haunts will host the festival this year including The Bodega, Rescue Rooms, The Chameleon, Percy Picklebackers and Metronome amongst many others. Nominated for 'Best Metropolitan Festival' by The UK Festival Awards in 2022, you can be sure there is something for everyone. The post-punk bands Yard Act and The Murder Capital will reap the benefits of their exponential growth, headlining the festival alongside indie pop royalty ALVVAYS.
UK favorites Kofi Stone, Nix Northwest and Finn Foxell bolster the ranks of alternative hip hop present in the lineup, whilst London dwellers Opus Kink and Heartworms both showcase their pioneering and oblique visions. Fans with an ear for lighter music can expect to see a wealth of singer songwriters such as Beka, Nell Mescal and Cathy Jane.
The final lineup also flaunts an exciting range of local bands including the maximalist post punk outfit Dura Mater, the three-piece brooding alt band Bloodworm and the unruly duo ALT BLK ERA, amongst other local favorites like Girlband, Otala, Gender Envy and Divorce. With such a stellar bill, one can expect Nottingham's music fans to be slipping down the streets of the town centre in their droves, spoilt for choice as to who they should see next!
