Next week Nottingham is privileged enough to be hosting Mic favourites DUTCH UNCLES at Spanky Van Dykes. 2013 has been good to the band, as seen from the reception their debut album Out of Touch in the Wild received; national papers such as The Times declared that it would be ‘a glaring omission’ if it didn’t make the Mercury Prize list’, and Q magazine gave it a 4/5 and found it ‘straight to the heart loveable’. It wasn’t just the press who found the album inspiring either- Paramore guitarist Taylor York listed the band amongst Alt-J and Frank Ocean when telling NME of the artists that had inspired their own new album.
This week DU released the video for their new single ‘Bellio’, which was directed by the visionary Isaac Eastgate who also did the video for the last single ‘Fester’, which can be found here. If you’ve got a fear of deep sea creatures, look away. If you’ve got a thing for beautiful music videos, here you go:
We’re really excited for this show, and we hope you are too. If it couldn’t get better, the band will be joined by Sky Larkin. You can pick up tickets from Spanky’s or from See Tickets.
